Great Grating
If you have a foodie in your life this holiday season, then you need to be sure they have a microplane rasp grater. It is the most wonderful little tool and I find reasons to use mine every day. Also, it's long shape fits perfectly in a stocking, so there is that too! I have this rasp that I got it Williams-Sonoma. Most everything in their store is expensive and not ideal for a shoestring gal like me, but this grater is priced well at $14.95.
But what do we grate? EVERYTHING! It's a "grate" zester (hahaha, I crack me up. WOW. Too much coffee this morning...) and I find that a little orange zest or lemon zest brightens up so many meals from pasta to steamed veggies. It's also good for grating chocolate on desserts, nutmeg into your eggnog, and parmesan into EVERYTHING. So, go pick one up for the chef in your life!
