White Christmas
My post-holiday bash was a big success this year, mostly in part to me letting people help with the food. I have Martha syndrome, and I've got it bad. I always want to have a party and then spend the whole party going, "Why didn't people eat this hummus I made? Why is the fruit tray untouched?" Especially at this time of year, people have multiple things to go do on any given night, so there is no point trying to stuff them at MY house.
This year, I wasn't even sure that people were going to make it because we got about 14" of snow on Christmas eve and the entire town was buried. It wasn't as bad as some of the blizzards we've had in Colorado, but it definitely made travel difficult. Still, it was hard not to be totally inspired while watching the white stuff falling all day on Christmas eve. I decided to use the snowstorm as the theme for my dessert table at my party.
Using about $6 worth of paper doilies, some white raffia, silver glitter wrapping paper, and some polyfill, I made a centerpiece and wall decorations that I really loved. I love making decorations with paper. It's so versatile! Anyway, I threw this together the morning of the party and I think it really captured the magic of this Christmas.
